FLORENCE, S.C., Feb. 14, 2022 – Jamestown Foundation have been awarded the Growth Grant from South Carolina Humanities.

“We are thankful to receive this grant to advance the progress of Jamestown Foundation during this COVID-19 pandemic,” said Executive Director Terry James.

The Growth Grant is designed to offer operating and/or program support to humanities organizations throughout the state of South Carolina that are facing financial hardship because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Funding is provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities as part of the American Rescue Act of 2021.

The foundation will receive $10,000 and will use the funds to continue its efforts to rebrand in preparation for implementing its strategic plan, which was interrupted due to the pandemic.

Jamestown Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization, located in Florence, S.C and is dedicated to preserving Jamestown, as community founded in 1870 by former Ervin James, who purchased 246 acres in the Pee Dee region for his descendants. His desire was for his heirs to be able to live independently, free of debt and ownership by another man.
